Station 89 is located at 33536 SE 309th St and houses the district’s tender, quick attack engine, and air trailer. It is a three bay 1700 sq ft station which was built in 1966 with volunteer labor. A 10kW diesel generator provides emergency power to maintain full readiness capability. The large siren on the top is a Federal Signal model C3 ½ civil defense siren which was manufactured in the late 1940’s. This siren is used to alert volunteer firefighters that there is an emergency. Due to the inadequate cell phone coverage in the district this is the only reliable secondary alerting method to pagers. Station 89 contains the district’s SCBA filling equipment as well as the swift water rescue equipment.
